PATRON: H R H THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH
The Association called The
Friends of St Paul's Pro-Cathedral Valletta was
started in 1968. The 'First Friend' on the Roll is His Royal Highness
the Duke of Edinburgh, a fitting circumstance for a Cathedral with such
a history and such close connections with the Royal Navy, Army and
Royal Air Force.
Many of
those who are Friends have served or lived
in Malta. Others have visited and worshipped in the Cathedral while on
holiday. Indeed, Friends are now widely scattered throughout the World.
The
Cathedral does not benefit from any endowment and receives no financial
support from the Church Commissioners in England. It
has to meet all expenses, including the stipend of the Chancellor, and
is entirely dependent on donations, subscriptions, collections and
fundraising activities.
You are
cordially invited to join this
Association of Friends of St Paul's Pro-Cathedral
by completing a form that will be sent to you on
application to the
Chancellor or Secretary.
With
your membership a copy of the Constitution will be sent to you along
with the monthly Chaplaincy Magazine and the bi-annual Friends
Newsletter.
A 'Friends weekend' is proposed for the Autumn. An occasion to join together with other members for a special Festival Service and Dinner.
